At our classroom we did geometry. We did bubbles at the other classroom what you can do on bubble is you could run around and it will spread bubbles. We also learned about 3D objects. 3D object is a cylinder cone cube pyramid sphere. I also learned about bouncy balls.  what you can do on bouncy balls are bounce it around when you bounce it high it goes much higher. There is shape all around us. When you measure you always have to start with 0 and you could measure anything could measure your cat or a person or different animals. Next we switched station we did shapes we get to color it but you have to answer the questions then it says how many sides does a square have. I answered it has 4 sides and 4 vertices. I also forgot at geometry we had to find 3d objects  i found cylinder cone sphere cube pyramid. We had to find all of those in our classroom.

Pink Day: Respect, Responsibility, & Belonging

Today at our school we had Pink Day!  This year we started the day off by having a school assembly.  During the assembly we watched a video “Playing for change-Stand By Me” Adapted from Ben E. Kings 1961 chart topping song “Stand by me“.  Then we talked about our school goals of people showing respect, being responsible, and that we all belong to our school community.  After our principal Mr. Fehrenbach read to the school The Big Tree and the Little Tree by Mary Tappage, edited by Jean E. Speare, and illustrated by Terry Gallagher.  It was a fantastic story with a wonderful message.  Finally all of the students in the school were separated into ten groups.  Together as a group they decorated a table cloth that they are going to sit at for lunch!  Once everyone was done decorating their table cloth students went outside for recess and went back into their classrooms for a class activity.

Our class talked about people’s differences and that our differences makes everyone unique and special.  We created a class puzzle together!  Each student decorated a puzzle piece to represent themselves and then the remaining pieces we decorated them to represent our classroom. We talked about how each piece of the puzzle is unique and different, but our differences help create a positive community.  We did not get a chance to finish putting the puzzle together, but check out our blog next!  We will post a picture of our puzzle as soon as it is complete.

At lunch time everyone went down to the gym to enjoy lunch together with their groups! The students had so much fun spending time with people from other grades in our school.  Thanks to the staff and the SCC for helping prepare the hot dogs for lunch!  After everyone was finished eating students enjoyed recess and met back into their groups when recess was over.  All afternoon students were able to participate in a variety of activities!  The activities were relay races, scavenger hunt, music station, structure building, and Pictionary/charades.  All the activities were great team building exercises to get to know other students in the school.  We were able to create fabulous memories together!  It was a wonderful day!
